Brownwood residents will have a free opportunity to hear international concert pianist Teresa Walters when Howard Payne University hosts her Musical Faith Journey Tour at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, 2026. The performance will take place in Grace Chapel and is open to the public.
Walters is an international Steinway Artist whose program combines original interdenominational music with true personal stories and multimedia resources. Rather than following the format of a traditional piano recital, the tour is designed as a dynamic presentation that connects music with Walters’ experiences and faith journey.
A musical journey around the world
During the program, Walters will share personal experiences from her life in music and introduce international performances. The event description presents the concert as an opportunity for audiences to travel around the world through her stories, musical selections and multimedia presentation.
The New York Times has described Walters as “The International First Lady of Piano.” Her appearance at Howard Payne is part of the Musical Faith Journey Tour, bringing the program to the university’s Brownwood campus.
Free public event at Howard Payne
No admission charge is required for the Grace Chapel concert, making the event accessible to the broader Brownwood community as well as Howard Payne students and members of the university community.
