Artists from across Texas will have two opportunities to submit work for the 2027 Stars of Texas Juried Art Exhibit at Brownwood’s historic Brownwood Depot Civic and Cultural Center. The annual exhibit is open to artists aged 15 and older, with more than $7,000 in awards planned across multiple categories.

Artwork intake will take place Friday, Jan. 29, 2027, from 5 to 8 p.m., and Saturday, Jan. 30, from 9 a.m. to noon. Artists should plan to submit their work during one of those windows.

Judging and results

Judging is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 30, from noon to 4 p.m. Results are expected to be posted at the Depot and on social media by 4 p.m. The professionally judged exhibit will recognize work in a range of media, including painting, sculpture and photography.

The exhibit is held each February at the Brownwood Depot and brings artists and art lovers from across the state to Brownwood for two weeks of art, education and community activities.

Salon Des Refuses offers another option

The Brownwood Art Association will again host its Salon Des Refuses Exhibit in conjunction with the Stars show. Artists whose work is not accepted into Stars may submit it for free entry at the Art Center at 215 Fisk.

The prospectus and complete entry information are available at starsoftexasjuriedartexhibit.com. Questions may be directed to [email protected]. Organizers also encourage artists to follow @starsoftexasjuriedartexhibit on social media for updates and announcements.
