CASA in the Heart of Texas is inviting people across the Brownwood area to help provide Christmas gifts for children in foster care who will spend the holidays away from their families. The organization announced its 2026 Christmas Pajama Stocking Project in a press release shared with Brownwood News.

The project serves children from Brown, Mills and Comanche counties. CASA said each child will receive gifts connected to personal wishes, with the goal of making the holiday season special for children in foster care.

How Brownwood-area residents can help

Individuals, families, churches and workplaces can sponsor one or more children. CASA will send sponsors wish lists in early to mid-November. The lists will include each child’s gender, age, pajama size and gift requests, giving sponsors information needed to shop. CASA estimates that sponsors should expect to spend about $50 or more per child.

People who prefer not to sponsor a specific child can donate gift cards in $10, $25 or $50 denominations. CASA said cards may come from retailers including Walmart and Amazon, as well as fast-food chains. Cash donations are also accepted and will help CASA purchase gifts for children in need.

Key dates and delivery details

Potential sponsors should contact CASA by Nov. 9 to report how many children they want to sponsor or how many gift cards they plan to provide. CASA said it will follow up by email by Nov. 13 with the information sponsors need to begin holiday shopping.

New, unused and unwrapped gifts must be delivered to the CASA office by Dec. 4. The office is located at 104 E. Industrial, Suite M, Early, Texas 76802. CASA encouraged donors to deliver gifts as soon as possible so volunteers have time to make sure they reach the children before the holidays.

Donors may place the gifts in large gift bags. To sponsor a child or request additional information, contact the CASA offices at 325-643-2557 or email [email protected].
