Brownwood zoning board sets Sept. 8 hearing on Vincent Street carport variance

Brownwood residents will have a chance to weigh in Sept. 8 on a requested zoning variance for a carport at 2410 Vincent Street.

The City of Brownwood Zoning Board of Adjustment is scheduled to conduct the public hearing at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026, in the City Hall Council Chambers at 501 Center Ave.

Variance request

The request, identified as VAR 20-26, seeks permission for the carport to extend 6 feet into the required 6-foot side-yard setback. The applicant also plans to add gutters.

After the public hearing, the board may take action on the request. The notice does not state whether the variance will be approved or identify the applicant.
