Two Brownwood property owners are scheduled to bring carport setback requests before the city’s Zoning Board of Adjustment during a public meeting Tuesday, Nov. 10.
The regular meeting is set for 4 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 501 Center Avenue, Brownwood, Texas. The agenda includes public hearings on two variance applications, and the board may act on either request after hearing public comment.
Requests before the board
The first application, identified as VAR 25-26, concerns 204 Quail Run. The request seeks a variance allowing a carport to extend 1 foot into the required 5-foot side-yard setback. The agenda states that gutters will be added.
The second application, VAR 26-26, concerns 3510 1st Street. The property owner is requesting a variance for a carport extending 25 feet into the required 25-foot front-yard setback and 5 feet into the required 5-foot side-yard setback. Gutters are also planned for that project.
Meeting agenda
The board’s business is scheduled to begin with a call to order, followed by any items to be withdrawn and approval of the minutes from the Oct. 13, 2026, regular meeting.
After the two public hearings, the board may take action on the variance requests before adjourning. The meeting notice was published Nov. 4, 2026, by Brownwood News.
