Two Brownwood property owners are seeking relief from required yard setbacks for carports, with both requests scheduled for a public hearing before the City of Brownwood Zoning Board of Adjustment on Tuesday, November 10, 2026.
The hearing will begin at 4 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers at 501 Center Ave. The board may take action on either request after the public hearing.
Requests before the board
At 204 Quail Run, request VAR 25-26 seeks a variance allowing a carport to extend 1 foot into the required 5-foot side-yard setback. The request states that gutters will be added.
At 3510 1st Street, request VAR 26-26 seeks two setback variances for a carport: 25 feet into the required 25-foot front-yard setback and 5 feet into the required 5-foot side-yard setback. Gutters will also be added as part of that request.
