James Avery Artisan Jewelry has opened a new Brownwood store at the Shops on Commerce, giving customers across Central Texas a closer place to shop for handcrafted jewelry, charms, engraving and personalized gifts.

The store opened Friday, Sept. 4, according to a press release shared by James Avery. The announcement was published by Brownwood News on Sept. 9, 2026.

A new retail option along Commerce Street

The Brownwood location is near the main intersection of U.S. 377 and Commerce Street, in one of the city’s active retail areas. The store is positioned within a shopping destination that includes Walmart, The Home Depot, T.J. Maxx, Five Below, Boot Barn, Ross, Ulta Beauty and Bath & Body Works.

It is also located near Howard Payne University. James Avery said the location is intended to serve local shoppers, college families, students, alumni and visitors from nearby communities. The company said the store will serve customers across a multi-county area extending more than 50 miles.

For residents, the new store provides a local option for everyday shopping, weekend trips, university-related gifts and special occasions. Customers can also use the store’s engraving and personalization services, according to the company.

Fall jewelry and university-themed designs

The store’s merchandise includes a broad selection of James Avery designs as well as the company’s new fall collection. That collection features Halloween-inspired enamel charms, colorful gemstone rings and new enamel dangle rings offered in seven shades.

The Brownwood store will also carry James Avery’s expanded College Collection, which includes five additional schools. The collection includes Enamel Connected Hearts styles in officially licensed university colors.

James Avery said shoppers can visit the store to find a fall item, mark a university connection, select a gift or add to a piece they already own.

Company brings long Texas history to Brownwood

James Avery was founded in 1954 in the Texas Hill Country. The company says its jewelry is designed to help generations celebrate meaningful moments, with more than 600 charm designs available.

“Brownwood is a place where people from surrounding communities come together to shop, work, study and spend time with family,” said Karina Dolgin, James Avery’s chief product and revenue officer. “We’re grateful to open our doors here and give guests a convenient place to explore our designs, personalize pieces and find gifts for the people and moments that matter most.”

The company describes its jewelry as “Crafted with Heart™,” reflecting the stories, milestones and values of the people who wear it.
