Community safety and law-enforcement partnerships
National Night Out is described as an annual community-building campaign designed to promote police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. The event gives residents and law enforcement an opportunity to meet under positive circumstances while building connections intended to help make neighborhoods safer and more caring places to live.
Heart of Texas Crime Stoppers works with local law-enforcement agencies by offering residents a safe and anonymous way to share information about criminal activity. The program is supported by volunteer directors and community contributions.
Additional National Night Out gatherings are listed for the Blanket Volunteer Fire Department, Brookesmith Volunteer Fire Department, Lake Brownwood Bridge Volunteer Fire Department and Dam Volunteer Fire Department.
