A major professional fishing event filmed at O.H. Ivie and Lake Brownwood will reach television audiences Saturday when Major League Fishing’s Bass Pro Tour Suzuki Marine Stage 4 Presented by Plano premieres on Discovery.
The two-hour episode is scheduled for 7 to 9 a.m. Eastern time on Sept. 12. The event was filmed earlier this year in Early, Texas, and was hosted by Visit Early.
A $600,000 competition on local waters
The four-day tournament brought 51 of the world’s top professional anglers to O.H. Ivie and Lake Brownwood. They competed for a $600,000 purse, including a $125,000 top payout, as well as Angler of the Year points that could help determine qualification for the Kubota Heavy Hitters all-star event and the REDCREST 2027 Bass Pro Tour championship.
Discovery is the primary broadcast outlet for new MLF episodes, which premiere each Saturday morning. The tournament episode also is scheduled for re-airings on the Outdoor Channel, giving viewers additional opportunities to watch the competition featuring Brown County-area lakes.
How the Bass Pro Tour format works
The full field began with a two-day Qualifying Round. Once that stage ended, the angler with the heaviest two-day total advanced directly to the Championship Round.
Anglers who placed from second through 20th moved into the Knockout Round. Their weights were reset, and they competed for one of nine places in the final round.
Weights were reset again for the final-day Championship Round. The angler with the highest one-day total won the event’s $125,000 top prize.
Season stakes extend beyond Saturday’s broadcast
The O.H. Ivie and Lake Brownwood stop is part of the 2026 Bass Pro Tour season, which includes seven regular-season tournaments held around the country. In addition to tournament winnings, anglers are pursuing points tied to qualification for the annual Heavy Hitters all-star event and the REDCREST 2027 championship.
Major League Fishing said the tour is supported by sponsors including Suzuki Marine, Toyota, Abu Garcia, Bass Pro Shops, Berkley, Lowrance, Mercury, NITRO Boats, O’Reilly Auto Parts, Ranger Boats and other companies.
