The Early Lady Horns remain unbeaten after overpowering Cornerstone Christian in a straight-set home victory Tuesday night, extending their season-opening winning streak to 13 matches. Early won 25-11, 25-6 and 25-5.
Ella DeVillier led the attack with 12 kills, followed by Aubrie DeVillier with 10 and Grey Pruett with nine. Ellie Shea added four kills, while Racy Pruett recorded three. Pearl Sharp and Sunny Groom each contributed one kill.
Early controls the match
Sunny Groom directed the offense with 16 assists. Grey Pruett supplied eight assists, while Ella DeVillier and Jaime Lyon each had one.
Early also built pressure from the service line. Shea recorded five aces, with Racy Pruett and Aubrie DeVillier adding four apiece. Grey Pruett contributed one ace.
The Lady Horns held their defensive edge as well. Aubrie DeVillier and Grey Pruett each logged seven digs. Groom, Racy Pruett and Kailyn Gallardo followed with five digs apiece, while Shea had two and Hallie Thornberry had one.
At the net, Shea and Aubrie DeVillier each recorded one block.
Next stop: Dublin tournament
Early, now 13-0, is scheduled to compete in the Dublin tournament beginning Thursday. The Lady Horns are set to face Paint Rock at 9 a.m., Graford at 11 a.m. and Millsap at 1 p.m.
