Brownwood residents have a local opportunity to support cancer care while sharing a fried-fish meal: VFW Post 3278 and its Auxiliary will hold a fundraiser for Walker Cancer Center on Friday, Sept. 18.
The fish fry will run from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 2300 Stephen F. Austin in Brownwood. Plates will cost $14 and include fried fish, coleslaw, hush puppies, beans, red sauce and tartar sauce.
Orders, delivery and dining details
Advance orders are available by calling the VFW at 325-646-8113. Orders must be placed before Sept. 15, giving residents who want multiple plates or delivery a deadline to keep in mind.
Delivery will be available in the Brownwood and Early areas beginning at 10:30 a.m. Customers should note that drivers will not carry change, so payment should be prepared accordingly.
Dine-in service will be available in the Veterans’ Canteen only. Walk-in orders may be available beginning at noon, although the announcement does not guarantee availability before then.
