The Brownwood Lady Lions are searching for their first District 6-4A victory after falling to Graham in straight sets Friday. The loss leaves Brownwood 0-2 in district play and sets up a 6 p.m. Tuesday matchup with Glen Rose in the Lady Lions’ district home opener.
Graham won the match 25-17, 25-19 and 25-20. It was Brownwood’s second district loss in as many outings. The Lady Lions entered the match with a 7-19 overall record and now return home looking to change the direction of their district schedule.
Brownwood offensive leaders
Ashantia Green and Demayha Hooker led Brownwood with eight kills apiece. Kaydence Chandler added five kills, while Camryn Gipson and Adyn Lucas each recorded one.
Lexi Driskill directed the offense with 18 assists and also contributed 10 digs. Jordyn Brixey recorded five assists. From the service line, Green posted two aces, while Lucas and Chandler added one each.
Defensive and net statistics
Driskill’s 10 digs led the Lady Lions. Green and Abby Brasher followed with seven apiece, while Kendall Ratliff recorded five and Lucas had four. Hooker added three digs, and Chandler, Brixey and Kimber McLean each finished with two.
Hooker led Brownwood at the net with two blocks. Green, Lucas and Chandler each contributed one block.
Tuesday’s match against Glen Rose will be Brownwood’s first district home contest of the season. The teams are scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
