The Brownwood Lady Lions will look to rebound quickly after suffering a straight-set loss at Fredericksburg on Tuesday night. The defeat followed Brownwood’s runner-up finish at the Heart of Texas volleyball tournament over the weekend.
Brownwood enters its next competition with a 6-7 record. The Lady Lions are scheduled to return to action at the Godley tournament beginning Thursday, giving the team its next opportunity to build momentum after the loss.
Green leads Brownwood offense
Ashantia Green led the Lady Lions offensively with five kills, the highest total for either team member identified in the report. She also recorded Brownwood’s only listed service aces, finishing with two.
Camryn Gipson, Lexi Driskill and Demayha Hooker each contributed two kills. Kaydene Chandler and Kimber McLean added one kill apiece.
Driskill directed the offense with nine assists. Abby Brasher recorded two assists, while Adyn Lucas and Jordyn Brixey each had one.
Lady Lions contribute across the defense
Brixey, Brasher and Kendall Ratliff led Brownwood defensively with six digs apiece. Driskill added four digs, while Green and Lucas each finished with three. Gipson, Hooker and Chandler contributed two digs each.
Hooker recorded two blocks in the match. Driskill and Chandler added one block apiece.
The Godley tournament begins Thursday and is Brownwood’s next listed competition following the Fredericksburg match.
