Brownwood Independent School District will bring back its annual Pink-Out fundraiser on Friday, Oct. 9, combining schoolwide support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a drive to raise money for local families fighting cancer.
BISD faculty, staff and students are expected to wear the 2026 Pink-Out shirts throughout the school day and at the Brownwood versus La Vega football game that evening. The district is also encouraging parents and other community members to participate by purchasing a shirt and wearing it to school, work or the game.
How to order a shirt
The 2026 shirt marks the 15th anniversary of the BISD fundraiser. Its design combines past shirt designs on the back with a pink ribbon and Brownwood’s traditional leaping lion on the front.
- Shirts cost $15 in every size, from youth small through adult 6XL.
- Orders can be placed online at brownwoodisd.org/pinkout.
- Paper order forms may be submitted at the BISD Central Support Center, 2707 Southside Drive, or at any BISD campus.
- Orders and payments are due by 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21.
Fundraiser supports local families
Every shirt sale or donation goes into a cancer fund intended to help local families battling cancer. BISD said the fundraiser has generated more than $150,000 over the years, supported by students, staff, teachers and the broader Brownwood community.
The district said the effort has helped several individuals during their fights against cancer and expressed hope that community participation will continue the fundraiser’s success. Residents who want to take part can order by the deadline and wear the shirt on Pink-Out day and at the football game.
